Join the Style Revolution, and Make Fine Hair the Envy of All!

et's make fine hair the in thing!
Your frustratingly straight and fine hair can be transformed into your greatest attribute overnight. Style is all about making the most of what you have. Sure, you can use techniques, supplements, and diet tips to help the general health of your hair, but don't try to create something that simply isn't you. If you have fine hair, and want to try to achieve a style for thick hair, then yes you can pull it off, but why? You have an asset in your unique hair type. There is no need to hide away from it; rather you should embrace it.
Short hairstyles often work wonders for women with fine hair, and are increasingly popular. They can add body and shape to your style, and give you some rejuvenated confidence. No one likes to feel as though their hair is simply an annoying mass on top of your head. How you feel about your hair can really impact your entire self-confidence, and thus it shouldn't be ignored. By finding a suitable stylist you can try out popular styles, such as sleek bob cut, asymmetrical bob, pixie cut, or 'side swept bangs'.
Fundamentally you have to start seeing your fine hair as an attribute. If you despise the very nature of your hair, then it is also obvious that you will hate the style. Learn to love your hair; play with it, experiment, don't be afraid. But first you must look after the health of your hair, if you are to enable greater room for experimenting. There is no point trying lots of different colours, styles, and cuts if your hair is always going to look withered and unhealthy. The first starting point for anyone seeking out hairstyles for fine hair has to be health. This can come from diet, products, and supplements, and can be the single most important step to finding a style that you are happy with. Don't envy anymore; make the most of your fine hair.

The 4 Basic Principles of First Aid Training

First aid training teaches non-expert personnel how to provide the initial care for wounds, illnesses, or traumas. First aid consists of life saving techniques which can be performed using minimal equipment and sometimes even your bare hands. First aid training has four key principles which anyone interested in learning this program should know and follow. Read below to find out what these four principles are.
- Preserving Life
Above anything else, the main goal of any medical act, including first aid, is to save a life. Medically speaking, the state of being alive is represented by the presence of two parameters: a regularly beating heart and an open, unobstructed airway that can fill the lungs with air. First aid training focuses on teaching clear and simple gestures that help maintain a victim's breathing and pulse and that consequently, lead to the preservation of life. For example, first aid training teaches you that it is important to place unconscious victims on their side to avoid that the victims chokes on its own vomit.
- Avoiding Causing Additional Harm
One of the first things trainees learn in first aid programs is that before trying to help a victim, the rescuer has to be sure that his or her actions do not cause any further harm. For example, moving a victim who has fallen from a height before securely immobilizing him or her could lead to permanent spinal injuries. Similarly, performing an incorrect cardiac massage can cause additional damage to a victim already in distress. So, it is better to be completely sure you know how to perform the maneuvers right before attempting to help someone.
- Preventing Further Harm
Preventing further harm or in other words, preventing the condition of the victim from getting worse, is another important principle taught during first aid training. The concept implies removing the victim from the dangerous place that caused the situation (a fire, a room filled with carbon monoxide) and practicing various techniques in order to alleviate the patient's immediate prognosis (applying pressure to a heavily bleeding wound). Although first aid techniques are usually pretty simple to execute, they are usually enough to ensure the victim stays stable until he can be transported to a hospital or an ambulance arrives.
- Promoting the Victim's Recovery
In many cases, first aid is necessary to help the victim until more advanced medical treatment, such as drugs and medical devices, can be accessed. First aid is the first step in the recovery of an injury, broken bone, or other types of trauma. In some cases, the skills learned during first aid training can represent the complete and only needed treatment, like in the case of a applying a bandage to a small wound or a calming solution on a sunburn.
The four principles presented above are the most important points any professional first aid training should focus on. Although there are a lot of other important aspects regarding first aid training, any rescuer should keep these four key concepts in mind when trying to help the injured.

Protecting Yourself From Toxic Emotions - Here's the First Step

We are often 'blind' when it comes to toxic emotions and toxic emotional messages. We consume toxic emotional words and create emotional stress without being aware of it and then wonder where all the relationship stress came from. Taking charge of your emotional life means learning to deal effectively with invitations to ingest toxic emotions.

Consider: if someone gave you a physical toxin to take in, would you ingest it? Suppose you were offered, say,

• food gone bad (yuck!)

• a serving of lead paint (yikes!)

• a glass of liquid mercury (eek!).

You'd know not to consume them, even if they were offered with all the sincerity one could possibly muster.

But we are often far more 'blind' when it comes to toxic emotions and toxic emotional messages. If we were to listen to our gut reaction, we'd probably be forewarned, but most of us have been trained out of that - we're too numb to that level of knowing, and simply consume toxic emotional words without being aware of what we're doing, and then feel at a loss to pinpoint the causes of our emotional stresses and the sources of tension in relationships.

When someone serves us up a generous helping of guilt, blame, definitions of ourselves as being inadequate, unloving, unkind, not worth while, that we don't count, don't matter, too many of us just swallow it down like we thought it was good for us.

The very worst kind of these toxic messages are ones that, when consumed, negate the very parts of us that make us human - our emotional needs, our feelings, our desire for connection, our need for a variety of stimulation, our need to create boundaries, to be separate, to develop our own identity, to develop our own skill sets so we can make things work in our lives... these are the very worst messages.

The Emotional Development 101 classes place great emphasis on learning which messages support our humanity, taking them stage by stage to define which are nourishing and which are toxic to each part of our emotional selves.

Before you take the class, a good exercise is to make note of the kinds of messages you are actually receiving now from others, and become aware of how you're being invited to feel. An everyday example is when two people say to you, "Have a good day.' but one says it with an open smile while the other says it with clenched teeth and a locked jaw.

Allowing yourself to become aware of your gut level reaction to these and other messages you receive throughout the day is an excellent way to begin separating out what you will take in (things that support your emotional health and well-being), and things that you do not want to take in because they are toxic to your emotional self.

After all, you wouldn't eat food-gone-bad or a cocktail of lead or mercury if you were aware of it! The same is true of toxic emotional messages - becoming aware of them is the key to refusing to ingest them.

The Essential Steps To Improving Your Physique In A Healthy Way

Everyone is interested in improving their bodies. There's always room for improvement, even if you're born with a naturally fit and lithe body. We have to realize that nobody was born with a perfect figure, anyway. Again, there's always room for improvement and it's a good thing. It's actually good for one's self-esteem if one works hard enough to improve his looks. When you are satisfied with your physical appearance, you will certainly feel more confident. Also, it's nice to be conscious of your body because you become conscious of your health as well. A healthy body is after all, definitely more pleasing to the eye. So how do you achieve such a goal?
Let's try to go over the essential steps you'll be taking. First of all, a person who wants to improve his body has to re-evaluate his lifestyle. This would mean taking a better look at your daily activities. Try to see whether or not they contribute to creating a healthy physique for you. For example, keep track of how many meals a day you eat and the kinds of food you consume. Is there a need for you to take supplements such as natural protein powder and the like? If not, then must you take them? Do you also give time to exercise your body on a regular basis? You should also think about letting your body rest and getting enough sleep daily.
Second, you must be open enough to examine your body and determine which parts need improvement. This involves an honest appraisal of your body and learning what your physical assets and liabilities are. Take for example if you have skin problems, then now is the time to do something about them. Not only will you need to have a better diet and exercise, but some safe skin treatments will also be in order. Now if you're a guy and you're quite thin, look into supplements like natural whey powder for bulking up. Plus, if you have money to spare for spa treatments and other safe procedures, then by all means do so.
For the third step, it's all about good grooming and a sense of style. Even if you cannot achieve your dream body, you can still look just as fantastic. These will help you highlight your best parts and hide those flaws. Also, it will be a great help if you know what clothes to wear while you're still shedding the pounds. This is actually important for both women and men. There are so many ways to improve your appearance with good grooming and a great sense of style. This will boost your confidence and you will be inspired to do more for your body. So hurry and make yourself look good inside and out!

Kids' Health - What Causes Seizures in Children?

In the country, seizures affect 1 in every 250 children. Depending on the age of the child, these attacks can manifest in different ways. Some of them are very subtle such as when the child stares blankly at a fixed place, or when a big jolt happens that involve the entire body. Some of these manifestations can also be very vigorous, and they may involve repetitive shaking of the whole body. These manifestations can be short-lived, but they can also last more than 5 minutes.

1. Fever
Seizures are a relatively common problem in children especially those between the ages of 1 and 6. These attacks last around 5 minutes, and their manifestations include shaking of the hands, arms, and legs. Doctors say that this is but a normal effect of the fever, so it's not something that you should be worried about.

But even though this is the case, there are some types of seizures that need medical attention, so always be watchful of the signs and symptoms. For instance, if the seizure is not accompanied by a fever, or if it comes with a fever that involves only one part of the body, you must take your child to a nearby hospital immediately.

2. Severe infection
In general, anything that has an impact on the brain can cause seizure. So aside from fever, one of the leading causes of seizures is meningitis or infection of the brain. In meningitis, there is a buildup of toxins produced by bacteria, so the brain gets swollen. In addition to infection, a child can also get attacks because of head injuries and accidents.

3. Dehydration
If a child gets dehydrated, blood going to the brain is cut off, thereby leading to seizures. Also, dehydration can also trigger fever, which can result to attacks.

4. Brain tumor
When children experience attacks, one of the things that medical professionals look into is the possibility of a brain tumor. While we wish they never happen, there is definitely a possibility that they can happen.

What can you do as a parent to help prevent seizures in your children?

First, let your child drink plenty of water. Get him into the habit of drinking at least 8 glasses of water everyday to keep him hydrated. You can also give him corticosteroids, or drugs meant to reduce the swelling of the brain. But aside from those, make sure that your child lives in a quiet and stress-free environment. Sometimes, extreme noise may trigger attacks.
